'IJAWLISATION' of Goodluck Jonathan's Presidency is Counter Productive-Kayode Ogundamisi

We Fought Side by Side with the SAME HAWKS now misguiding GEJ. We are not Niger Deltans but we identified with them, because we saw their struggle as a JUST struggle. Back then when people tagged us as ANTI-NORTH we did not waver. We continued in the struggle.

Today they are in charge of Nigeria, rather than do what is RIGHT and JUST, not just for Nigerians but for the proletariats in the Niger-Delta, they do the same things the oppressors of yesteryears did.

They have become the new oppressors. To them it is about BREAD AND BUTTER. Even when GEJ’S policy is against the interest of the commoners in ND it is ok, so long they get a share of the LOOT! To them we are the new enemies, they don’t see us as comrades - they now see us as YORUBA IGBO HAUSA and NON-IJAW.

Our consolation is that we have people of conscience in the Niger Delta who see through the deception, who know that just as we had some Yoruba who protected Obasanjo’s injustice against the poor, we will have opportunists protecting GEJ’S injustice against the Poor. Our consolation is that the people always triumph

  2. Its unfortunate 4 Nigeria that these lines have now been drawn by both sides of a constructed divide. Instead of listening and talking we have this.

Defending GEJ is defending the indefensible - seriously ND Occupy ND need to rethink their position. But so too is claiming ND issues are somehow separate from the rest of the country. Your statement that AnnKio was trying to make this [ON] into a Niger Delta issue implied that the ND was not part of Nigeria - it was callous and dismissive as were other tweets in the same vein. Of course the ON is a ND issue and ND is an issue for ON!. A more constructive response would have been to recognise how we are joined together and to reach out to find ways of acting in solidarity.

A whole region, particularly one which has suffered almost alone for years cannot be dismissed in this way. People feel undermined and alienated.

To both sides I say we must have dialogue otherwise the only way it will take us is downhill. http://bit.ly/zhJMpi

  3. Most Niger Delta people are supporting Dumbo Joe that brought great shame to the region.

Whenever they need help again the rest of Nigeria will fold their arms. That is the implication. Yet, most of them are suffering.

I am from Bayelsa and yes I agree with Kayode. Instead of looking at what happened as Nigerians, my brothers and sisters turned it to an ethnic issue. What the president did was, to be straight, wicked. We now know how we reason. This is an eye opener.
